Payment Terms, Conditions & Refund Policy

Definitions

  • Activation Date: The date a membership application is approved and the member is granted active status (access to member benefits/services).
  • Membership Term: Twelve (12) months beginning on the Activation Date, unless otherwise stated in writing by NABC.

1) Membership Requires Application and Approval

All memberships require submission of a membership application and are subject to NABC approval (as applicable to the membership category). Payment of dues does not guarantee approval. If an application is not approved, refunds are handled as described in Section 5.

2) Billing Options

NABC offers the following payment options (as available):

  • Annual Dues Paid in Full (one-time charge)
  • Annual Dues Paid via Monthly Payment Plan (installments applied toward the annual dues total)
  • Auto-Renewal (recurring renewal at the end of the membership term, unless canceled)

3) Auto-Renewal (Recurring Billing)

Your membership will automatically renew at the end of your membership term and your payment method will be charged the then-current dues amount for your membership category, unless you cancel auto-renewal prior to the renewal date.

4) Monthly Payment Plan for Annual Dues (Installment Plan)

Annual Dues Paid Monthly (Installment Plan)

For Professional Members, you may elect to pay annual membership dues through a monthly installment plan. This option is a payment plan for an annual dues obligation and does not convert membership to month-to-month.

By enrolling in the monthly installment plan, you agree that:

  1. You are committing to pay the full annual dues amount for the Membership Term.
  2. Monthly payments are installments applied toward the annual dues total.
  3. You authorize NABC (and its payment processor) to charge the payment method on file for scheduled installment payments until the annual dues balance is paid in full.

Cancellation Before Anniversary Date (Acceleration / Remaining Balance Due)

If you are on the monthly installment plan and cancel membership before the Membership Anniversary Date, the remaining unpaid balance of the annual dues becomes immediately due and payable. This applies whether cancellation is initiated by the member or membership is terminated for policy/code-of-conduct violations.

Authorization to Charge Remaining Balance:
By selecting the monthly installment plan, you authorize NABC to automatically charge the payment method on file for the remaining unpaid balance of annual dues if:

  • you cancel before the Membership Anniversary Date, and/or
  • installment payments fail or the account becomes delinquent.

Failed Payments / Delinquency

If an installment payment fails, you agree to promptly update payment information. NABC may suspend your member benefits/access for delinquent accounts and may pursue collection of unpaid balances as permitted.

5) Refund Policy (Membership Dues)

Membership dues are generally non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-prorated, except for the limited situations below:

Refunds may be issued for:

  • Application Not Approved / Denied: Dues paid will be refunded (minus any separately disclosed non-refundable processing fee, if applicable).
  • Duplicate Payment: Same dues paid more than once for the same term.
  • Administrative/Billing Error: Incorrect amount charged or wrong account charged.

Refunds are not issued for:

  • Partial-term (“pro-rated”) requests
  • Dissatisfaction or non-use of benefits
  • Missed cancellation deadlines
  • Removal/suspension for policy violations (and any remaining installment-plan balance still applies)

7) How to Cancel Auto-Renewal or Membership

  • Cancel Auto-Renewal: Stops future renewal charges; membership remains active through the paid term.
  • Cancel Membership: Ends membership participation and access per NABC procedures; does not eliminate the obligation to pay the full annual dues for members on the monthly payment plan (see Sections 3–4).

8) Failed Payments / Delinquency (Recommended)

If a scheduled installment or renewal payment fails, the member agrees to update payment information promptly. NABC may suspend member benefits/access for delinquent accounts and may pursue collection of unpaid balances as permitted.
