Connect with Your Region and Get Involved with NABC!

The National Association of Black Counselors (NABC) is organized into regional divisions to ensure that every member receives support that is both locally relevant and nationally connected. These regions serve as the foundation for engagement, leadership development, professional collaboration, and community outreach across the country.

NABC’s regional structure allows us to:

  • Provide tailored support and resources that reflect the unique needs of each area

  • Foster leadership opportunities at both the state and regional level

  • Promote advocacy and policy efforts that are informed by local challenges and strengths

  • Build strong professional networks among Black counselors within and across state lines

  • Offer region-specific events, workshops, and networking opportunities

  • Create space for emerging leaders through State Director positions and other volunteer roles

Each region includes a number of states and territories and is supported by a Regional Director who helps guide strategic initiatives, promote member engagement, and ensure NABC’s mission is carried out effectively at the grassroots level.

The regional program is led by NABC Vice President Shareka Elkridge, who serves as the Director for NABC's regions. In this role, she provides leadership and oversight to ensure consistency, collaboration, and strategic growth across all regions.

Here is a breakdown of the NABC regions and the states or territories they cover:
