Membership Options
- Individual Professional Counselors – has a conferred degree in counseling at the masters or doctoral level and is professionally licensed in a jurisdiction. ($125/yr) Click here to become a member
- Residency Associate – has a conferred degree in counseling at the masters or doctoral level and is not licensed in any jurisdiction. (up to 4 years)- This is intended for those earning hours toward licensure. ($95/year)
- Institutional/Corporate – Open to institutions working in the Counseling/Human Service field or to those organizations that wish to help advance NABC’s mission and objectives. Membership allows transfer of membership to replacement personnel. (restricted from voting, holding office or chairing committees) This membership is subject to denial by the executive directors, executive board or board of directors. ($300/year)
Affiliated Professionals and other options
- Professional Associate – has a conferred degree in one of the Behavioral Science areas at the master’s or Doctoral level (not a counseling degree. E.g. social work, human services, psychology etc.) ($125/year)
- Paraprofessional – has a conferred degree or coursework in counseling and/or one of the related Behavioral Sciences at the bachelor’s level, works in the counseling field in some capacity [and is not currently enrolled in an academic program ($75/year)
- Affiliate is a person not eligible for other membership categories or voting privileges but committed to the goals and objectives of NABC ($100/year)
- Students – currently enrolled at the undergraduate or masters level in the area of counseling or related field. ($60/year)
- Retired – Meets professional, associate, or paraprofessional membership criteria, is at least 65 years of age and has minimally 5 years of prior behavioral health experience. ($60/year)
