Lakeland Community College has an immediate need for part-time counselors to provide academic guidance for its current and future students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide comprehensive counseling for all students who seek it; provide general information on all College academic programs.
Provide admission information to prospective students.
Assist and counsel/advise students during registration; assist and counsel/advise students in drop/add procedures.
Refer students who seek financial assistance to the Financial Aid office.
Administer appropriate standardized tests and provide interpretations.
Review certificate and associate degree applications. Counsel students through graduation process.
Counsel students referred by other faculty; assist other faculty in counseling students concerning academics; refer students to the Learning Center.
Assist students in career planning and career counseling.
Provide information concerning other colleges and universities; assist students with transfer procedures.
Participate in New Student Orientations.
Teach First Year Experience courses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training and Experience
Required: Master’s degree in Counseling and licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Ohio.
Experience in advisement or career counseling, especially at a two-year college is preferred.
Must be able and willing to work day and occasional evening hours on campus
COMPENSATION:
This is a part-time position, approximately 20-24 hours per week. Part-time counselors are paid $29.75 per hour.
