The National Association of Black Counselors invites you to join us in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the NABC 2027 Conference, Reclaim, Restore, Rise: The Power of Black Counselors Leading Social Justice.

Our annual conference brings together Black counselors, mental health professionals, educators, students, researchers, leaders, and community partners from across the country for professional development, meaningful dialogue, networking, community, and fellowship.

The NABC Conference is more than a professional gathering. It is a space for us to learn from one another, strengthen our professional community, share culturally grounded knowledge and practices, and build relationships that extend beyond the conference.

This year's theme calls us to consider the unique role Black counselors hold in advancing wellness and social justice. Reclaim invites us to reconnect with the knowledge, traditions, voices, and practices that have sustained our communities. Restore centers healing, wellness, connection, and the work of strengthening ourselves and our communities. Rise challenges us to use our knowledge, leadership, advocacy, and collective power to confront inequity and help create meaningful change.

The Conference Experience

NABC 2027 will offer educational sessions, workshops, presentations, and conversations designed to strengthen professional knowledge and practice while creating opportunities for connection and collaboration.

Throughout the conference, attendees will have opportunities to engage with colleagues, presenters, students, educators, researchers, and organizational leaders from across the country.

The conference will also feature a Plenary Session and Keynote Address bringing our community together around the conference theme and the power of Black counselors to advance healing, advocacy, leadership, and social justice.

Whether this is your first NABC Conference or you are returning to join us again, we look forward to creating a space where learning, community, professional development, and fellowship come together.

Continuing Education

NABC 2027 will provide opportunities for attendees to earn continuing education hours through eligible conference sessions and educational programming.

The National Association of Black Counselors (NABC) has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7685. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NABC is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

The National Association of Black Counselors invites proposals for the NABC 2027 Conference, Reclaim, Restore, Rise: The Power of Black Counselors Leading Social Justice, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

We welcome proposals from counselors, mental health professionals, educators, researchers, students, community practitioners, and other professionals whose scholarship, clinical practice, programs, research, and lived experiences can contribute to the professional development of our conference community.

We especially encourage proposals that engage with the conference theme and explore how Black counselors can reclaim culturally grounded knowledge and practices, restore individual and collective wellness, and rise as leaders in counseling, advocacy, social justice, education, research, and community change.

Pre-Conference

Extend your NABC 2027 experience by joining us for the Pre-Conference on Wednesday, April 21, 2027.

The Pre-Conference provides additional opportunities for learning, professional development, and connection before the full conference begins. Attendees may add the Pre-Conference to their conference registration or select the Conference + Pre-Conference Package for the complete NABC 2027 experience.

Conference Agenda at a Glance

The preliminary conference agenda will include pre-conference programming, concurrent educational sessions, the plenary and keynote address, regional and division meetings, the NABC Annual Meeting, networking and fellowship opportunities, the Awards, Recognition and Scholarship Luncheon, and post-conference programming.

Conference Registration

Registration options are available for NABC members, student members, student non-members, approved presenters, volunteers, and other conference attendees.

Attendees may register for the Conference Only, add the Pre-Conference separately, or select the Conference + Pre-Conference Package.

Discounted registration categories are subject to eligibility verification. NABC membership must be active at the time of registration to receive a member registration rate.

Presenters

Our presenters are an important part of the NABC Conference experience. Through workshops, educational sessions, research presentations, and professional conversations, presenters contribute their knowledge and expertise to our growing professional community.

Approved NABC 2027 presenters should complete the designated Speaker Registration. Presenter status will be verified.

Volunteers

Conference volunteers help us create a welcoming, organized, and engaging experience for attendees throughout NABC 2027.

Volunteer registration is reserved for individuals who have been approved to serve as NABC 2027 Conference volunteers. Volunteer status and assigned service commitments will be verified.

Conference Policies & Terms

All conference ticket purchases are non-refundable.

NABC understands that circumstances may arise that prevent an attendee from participating in person. Requests for special consideration may be reviewed by NABC. When approved and available, an attendee may be permitted to participate virtually or have the amount paid for the conference ticket applied toward an NABC membership.

All requests for special consideration are subject to review and approval and do not constitute a refund.

All attendees must agree to the NABC 2027 Conference Registration Terms and Conditions, including registration policies, the Media Release, and Community Standards and Anti-Harassment Policy, when completing registration.
