The Assistant Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at Mercer University-Macon campus assists the Director with the overall management, personnel, and operational functions of the counseling center. In addition to the administrative role, the Assistant Director will provide clinical intakes and individual as well as couples counseling; conduct crisis intervention; develop, facilitate, and evaluate outreach presentations and workshops; and provide consultation to faculty, staff, and students. The Assistant Director coordinates the practicum/intern program for CAPS. The position provides supervision to at least one practicum/intern per semester and is an advisor to the Peer Health Education program. associated with CAPS. The Assistant Director is responsible for the maintenance of the CAPS webpage and Instagram account as well as assists the Director with the electronic filing system used at CAPS. The Assistant Director actively coordinates and collaborates with other University departments and participates on various Division of Student Affairs and/or university committees as applicable and is a visible participant within the University community. This position requires after-hours work, including after hours on-call crisis management rotation and flexibility in assignments. On-call crisis management requires being on campus within 20 minutes of receiving phone call. Start Date TBD.
