The Director, Wellness & Prevention Services provides leadership and functional oversight for Alcohol & Other Drug Services (AODS), Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services (SAPRS), and oversees all Mental Health Promotion and Sexual Health Promotion initiatives. Specific responsibilities include serving as a member of the Student Success Leadership Team, along with department heads from Accessibility Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, Health Services, Religious & Spiritual Life, and Student Advising & Success; overseeing the service delivery, budget, strategic planning, and assessment of Wellness & Prevention Services; and working closely with other members of the department, students, and colleagues throughout the organization on the development of a comprehensive and collaborative health and wellness program in support of students’ academic, personal, and professional development.Key Responsibilities:
Oversees comprehensive support and intervention services for survivors of sexual and/or relationship violence to include crisis response services, advocacy regarding medical, legal, administrative and academic options, and case management.
Oversees SAFE Hotline and serves in an on-call rotation as an advocate for students who have experienced sexual and/or relationship violence.
Supervises intervention services for students seeking support regarding substance use, including Brief Alcohol Screening & Intervention for College Students (BASICS).
Coordinates a collaborative mental health promotion program with Counseling & Psychological Services to include stress management and resiliency curricula, mindfulness practices, sleep resources, and initiatives designed to increase social connectedness.
Supervises print and web-based publications for all Wellness & Prevention Services activities including brochures, and info/fact sheets; maintains office website and related social media accounts; and provides support for health communications to other health and wellness departments.
Coordinates delivery of Health & Wellness orientation programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
Supervises peer health education program and related activities.
Manages budgets and fiscal resources; responsible for long and short-range strategic, fiscal, and organizational planning.
Supervises implementation of the National College Health Assessment and other survey tools, tracks trends, develops reports, and measures program effectiveness.
Develops monthly dashboard indicator reports for the Associate Vice President, Student Success.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws including but not limited to CLERY, Title IX, VAWA, Campus SaVE, and more.
Implements best practices in accordance with Massachusetts law (civil and criminal) and campus policies in a non-judgmental manner, maintaining confidentiality as defined by applicable professional codes, laws, and policies.
Collaborates closely with campus partners in the development of a holistic and integrated approach to health and wellness at Babson College.
Participates in departmental and institutional diversity and inclusion initiatives; ensure the delivery of culturally competent care for a diverse student body.
Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

Minimum Level of Education Required Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Counseling, Education or related field plus certification as a rape crisis counselor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Position Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Requirements:
10+ years of experience in health promotion, violence prevention, and/or substance abuse prevention and 5 years previous management experience.
Must have experience assisting survivors, victims, and those affected by experiences of gendered violence
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build relationships and establish collaborative partnerships across the institution
Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and interact with culturally diverse individuals at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to work discreetly with sensitive information
Ability to establish credibility and confidence with stakeholders
Demonstrated technological competence with an appreciation and skill to apply technology in departmental operations and proficiency
Must have strong presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times
Must have broad knowledge of the dynamics of power, privilege, and oppression, gendered violence, and sexual and intimate partner violence on campus
Demonstrated experience effectively using independent judgment and making professional decisions and recommendations in situations that require highly individualized planning in effectively advocating for the complainant
Must have experience working independently and as a collaborative team member
