Under the general guidance of the Director of On-ground Modality, Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC), the Core Faculty, CMHC prepares students to lead social change in the fields of psychology and mental health, criminal justice, public safety, business, public policy, and advocacy. Leverages industry knowledge and best practices to promote the mission and vision of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and the institution as well as supports culture development and management efforts.
This is a 10-month core faculty position in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program – on-ground modality, within the Department of Counseling and Integrated Programs.
Education/Experience:
Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision required; Graduates of CACREP accredited program preferred. ABD candidates will be considered with the expectation of degree completion within the first semester of appointment.
Experience teaching master’s level counseling courses across the curriculum, and supervision of practicum/ internship students required..
Preferences will be given to those have clinical experiences in the community, and experienced in teaching Research & Program Evaluation, Addiction Counseling, Assessment/Appraisal, and Career Counseling.
Certifications/Licenses:
Licensed in Illinois, or eligibility for and attainment of the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Licensure (LCPC) within one year of appointment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaches on-ground master’s level counseling courses across the curriculum including supervise practicum/ internship students.
Advises and mentor CMHC students in the on-ground modality.
Engages in student retention, and professional development and remediation efforts.
Participates in institutional and departmental committees and meetings.
Supports and commit to programmatic, departmental, and institutional mission and initiatives.
Supports accreditation process and requirements.
Participates in program evaluation and data collection and analysis process
Participates in admissions process of new students and related initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment (Physical Demands): The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
